Senior Process Engineer at Rio Tinto in Boron, CA

We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our plant support team and assist in supporting production with technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills and providing both day to day guidance as well as developing and leading improvement projects. This role is a great opportunity to contribute to the organization safety and profitability while developing as a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures. Working a Monday to Friday roster and reporting to the Principal Advisor, you will be:
Supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of a Safe and Healthy working environment through personal commitment safety and ensure personal compliance with the specific Safety & Health System responsibilities Collaborating with operations to troubleshoot and execute optimization changes Mentoring process engineers to help develop their expertise in process evaluation, diagnostic, and problem solving skills Assists in Capital project preparation and commissioning Design sampling and laboratory test work campaigns to align with the plant operation and improve implementation of the plant fundamentals through optimization studies Analyze operating procedures, process data trends, and equipment unit operation functions to optimize the process Working closely with operations to improve the human machine interface (HMI) to resolve and improve alarms within the system Implementation of process safety management within the plant through execution of HAZOPs and improvement of process instrumentation Provides new ideas, insights, and direction for new processing alternatives to improve product recovery and quality Collaborate and facilitate exchange of information and expertise with other Rio Tinto groups What you'll bring To succeed in this role, you will have:
University degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering required Minimum of 5-10years working experience in metallurgical or chemical Industry Experience with mass balancing and optimization in an industrial mining plant Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software is required Good critical thinking, data analysis and problem-solving skills Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills It will also be beneficial if you have:

Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Chemical Engineering, Process ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
